Now That's What I Call Commonweal

Original Pop, Rock and dreamy ballads make up the ‘Now That’s What I Call Commonweal’ CD. This sixteen track album has contributions from students and staff and are currently on sale at £5 each, available from the school’s Finance Office tel 01793 612727 during school hours.

The idea behind the project came from Josie Williams the school’s Community Arts Development Officer and Nick Weaver the school’s Performing Arts Technician.
Commented Josie. “There is a huge amount of talent in school just bursting to do music and with the help of Nick they have been able to professionally record their songs for this special limited edition CD. "

Commented Nick Weaver, who is also a singer/songwriter. “It has been fantastic working with the students. Some of them have come to me with melody lines and I have written the music for them. Others have written and performed the whole thing themselves. The standard is very high and I am very proud of them.”

The CD was a vehicle to encourage confidence, self esteem, independent thought, teamwork and creativity. The front cover design was presented as a competition amongst Yr 9 and the winner was Andrea Powell age 13. “It’s been a really exciting opportunity and a great confidence boost.” Commented Issy Williams, age 12 who has a track on the CD

“It just gets better and better!” Charlotte Capitanchick, age 12 also CD contributor.

“Just think what we will be like in twenty years!” Julia Gaffney age 12, CD contributor.
