Art DepArtment Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide students with a structured, creative
environment where they are encouraged to ask questions, solve problems,
and take risks while acquiring the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to prepare themselves for a society and world which is predominantly and
intensely visual.

Art is the universal language through which we express our common aspirations and experiences. As such, it has always been a channel for appreciating and understanding the diversity of humankind.  In
contemporary society the use of visual media has expanded rapidly. More studies are indicating that children who experience the visual Arts are more successful in their other studies.

The need to experience, understand and successfully create visual media is increasing. The Art DepArtment is prepared to meet these needs.
