Sing Up

IOn 17th February 32 students from KS3 took part in a Gathering Voices Sing Up project. The aim of the day was to:

• Increase personal and group accountability

• Greater experience of engagement and inclusivity

• Greater awareness of group dynamics

• Increased empathy and appreciation of others

• Gains in personal confidence and self-esteem

• Experience of leadership roles and responsibilities

• Opportunities to assist and lead creative teaching sessions

The students, with the guidance of Mrs Sutcliffe, Head of Music, have used this experience to perform at various community events. In the summer term the aim is for Mrs Sutcliffe to take the group into our feeder schools to enable the students to teach Yr 6 a song that aims to be included on the next CD, 'Now That's What I Call Commonweal.'
