Big Hat Cabaret 2010

After months of rehearsals by groups such as Reach Inclusive Arts, Partners Theatre Company, Music Alive, Upham Rd Centre, Salto, Crowdy’ and Commonweal schools, the show was delivered at the Arts Centre, Devizes Rd, on Friday 9th July. All fore mentioned are members of the Big Hat Disability Network who aim to give people with disabilities a chance to perform on the stage. Music Alive are our latest network partners and we hope to expand and continue embracing other groups in the town. This year 73 people took part compared to 40 last year!

There has been a real team effort by all involved and just goes to show that  effective partnerships are a brilliant way to save money and time and still deliver a quality product,” said Josie Williams, Community Arts Development Officer at The Commonweal School and the networks driving force.

“It was a great night. One performer said that she had a brill time performing. Everyone who came to see the show from the Centre all said that they really enjoyed the show.” Angie Smith centre manager Upham Road
