Spring Concert

March 24th saw the culmination of extra-curricular music making activities since the new year. It featured items such as ‘Joyful Joyful’ and ‘Oh Happy Day’ sung by the ever-expanding senior choir as well as the newly formed soul band playing ‘In the midnight Hour’.

Concert band, as ever, played a large part in the event and are playing extremely well at the moment, however we will miss the current year 11s dreadfully when they leave in a few months time! As usual, the concert contained many soloists including year 8 trumpeter Casey Hindon and Sarah Read on the flute. Also performing were many of our year 11 students as they have recently been recording their pieces as part of the GCSE course.

The evening was a huge success and really showed off the amazing musical talent that we have here at Commonweal. Mrs Sutcliffe would like to say a big thankyou to all the staff and students involved in making the evening run so smoothly and professionally and is looking forward to seeing you all again for the summer events.
