Face to Faith

The Face To Faith Project was lead by the Swindon Borough Council in several Swindon  Schools. The project was designed to initiate and support interfaith dialogue between young people from different faiths.

Here at Commonweal a number of Yr 10 pupils were involved in creating a film relating to faith and community cohesion. The students got to work with Create Media Studios who helped them bring their film to life.

The project climaxed at a showcase evening at the Arts Centre were the students and invited guests got to see their production and the work of other schools on the big screen. The project was a great success and really encouraged the students to think about faith and community cohesion and how it impacts on everyday life.

The Project

The Face to Faith experience was something I have never thought  of before and given the chance I would definitely do it again! Working with the artists was an amazing experience and on the filming day we had a lot of fun. We were shown how to use the filming equipment which was amazing!

In the classroom discussions we had a very in depth discussion about different religions. We also talked about stereotypes. For example people that wear head scarves or different clothes shouldn’t be judged by what they look like. There is only one race, the human race and we should not forget that.
