Antonio Forcione Concert
Commonweal School was most fortunate on Saturday 27th September to have the world famous guitarist Antonio Forcione and his quartet perform a concert. The event was a sell out as parents, students and the wider community were enthralled by the sheer magic that this group create.
"The concert is a celebration of our re-designation as a performing arts college and reflects the aspirations towards high quality performance," commented Head teacher Keith Defter.
In the afternoon students and members of the wider community took part in a master class lead by Antonio. This warm and gentle soul offered techniques to improve the participants skills and they all worked on a piece that was performed on the main stage as a prelude to the evening concert.
"The master class was amazing, he was certainly an inspiration to myself and son who will be practicing these techniques at home," said Alison Hart.
"It was great to see where you can get if you practice! He was just stunning, awesome," commented student Sam Cantlon.
Commonweal School aim to stage three professional concerts a year. Watch our forthcoming events page for the next concert in the Spring
of 2008.
