Youth Dance Academy

Youth Dance Academy (YDA) came to Commonweal on May 8th to lead dance workshops with students who show particular talent and ability in dance.YDA at Swindon Dance, is one of five government funded training centres for young dancers. The workshops provided students to find out more about the Academy, and how they could audition.

‘This was a fantastic opportunity for students to take part in workshops led by fantastic teachers, and find out about what dance opportunities are available to them locally," commented dance teacher Louise Blake.

Present and past students who have been part of the YDA include, Conrad Taylor, Ravneek Bains, Catherine Johnson, and Jordan Ginger. Chris Thomas has also successfully auditioned for the new Urban Strand of YDA – focusing on street, Hip Hop and Urban dance styles.
