African Drumming at
King William Street

"On Friday 11th January, we hosted a Gambian Drumming and Dancing Day which was funded by The Commonweal School.

Every class was able to play a range of drums and learn about Gambian culture, alongside some new language, dancing, cultural stories and rhythm.

It was a great day, enjoyed by every child in the school. Each class started the session with their own drumming circle. This was followed by learning about different rhythm patterns and maintaining a rhythm within a more
complex beat," commented Headteacher
Simon Burrell, King William Street Church of England School.
