Gambia Day Thursday November 8th 2007
The entire of Year 7 were off time table to experience performing arts, the language, the culture and flavours of Gambia. At the start of the day the students attended an assembly where they learnt citzenship issues relating to this area of African culture. Throughout the day they took part in a variety of workshops including art, music,dance and food, many of which were delivered by local
Gambian residence.
The aims of the day were to give students the opportunity to develop their artistic, practical and performance skills along side professionals. To promote confidence and team building and to further students understanding of Gambian/African culture.

The day ended with a celebration in the hall where the students watched a video about one of our school trips to the Gambia, there own workshops that day and a display by the guests of drumming and dancing.
