The Summer Exhibition

This end of year exhibition, inspired by Tara Parker, Head of Art, was a rich and vibrant tapestry of student and staff work. Styles ranged from still life, to pop art, and abstract. “It was a fantastic show! I am really proud of our art students for putting in so much work to achieve an excellent standard; it just gets better year after year!” commented Tara.

The Mayor of Swindon, Steve Wakefield, opened the exhibition and was extremely impressed by the standard of work.

Before and after prize giving the invited audience were treated to the sounds of Swindon Big Band who are one of Commonweal’s many community partners.

Prizes were awarded to:
Sophie Holman- the Mayor’s Choice. Arnoldas Saltmitis - the Norgrove PTA. Eleanor Dewdney - Swindon Advertiser Editor’s Choice. Josie Tucker - Overall Achievement Award from the Art Department. Sophie Nye - Best in Show awarded by internationally renowed muralist Ken White. Thanks also go to patrons Anne Snelgrove MP and Annie Aiguier for attending.
