The sun shone as promised for this excellent summer celebration. The whole day was a truly relaxed affair and the quality of the music was outstanding. For three hours parents, students and staff enjoyed a diverse range of styles from concert band, to rock bands and soloist performances.
As a prelude to this, parents and staff took part in a cricket match which gave the whole day a quintessentially English summer ambience.
“The day was well attended and l would like to thank everyone for coming and all those who entertained us. A big thanks also to the PTA for their support and we look forward to a similar event next year.” Keith Defter, Headteacher.
“A huge thanks to all the musicians who made such a lovely afternoon happen. Miss Clements did a grand job organising the afternoon and much fun was had by all. The clubs involved are now having a well-earned rest and will be starting up again in September in preparation for the many events during the Autumn term. It was the last concert for Miss Clements here at Commonweal and to mark the occasion the students organised a small presentation of flowers and chocolates to say thank you for all her hard work and dedication over the two years that she has been with us.” Mrs Sutcliffe, Head of Music.
