Old Town Festival 2005

This annual event is staged over a period of a week. Our Year 8 Drama Club, involving 14 students, worked on a piece of Street Theatre under the guidance of our drama teacher Beth Ford. This was performed in Wood Street, Old Town on Saturday June 25th

The students dressed in Victorian costume and acted out a cops and robbers scenario before gathering collection buckets for the Old Town gardens Band Stand Appeal.

Prior to the event one of the students arranged a mini dramathon and raised £10, this was done without prompting and was entirely the students own idea. . The group, although a little nervous at first, soon picked up the idea and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and want to perform again as soon as possible.

On Sunday 3rd July , as part of the festival, Linda Drayton, Head of Music, arranged a mixed bag of entertainment including the choir, solo and duo vocalists, solo musicians and Year 9 Dance Club who performed their piece entitled 'Believe.'

This was staged at The Bowl, Town Gardens and was a marvellous experience for the young people.
