Extra Curricular

The Music Department is very active in the community and are always in demand for performances. Our reputation for delivering high quality music in the community has never been stronger. The music department give 110% and are very popular members of staff with the students. Clubs run every lunchtime and feed into events in the community. Term one our String Quartet were invited to play at the Holy Rood Church, part of English Heritage week. The following week the music department were asked to perform at Christchurch Autumn Fete.

Term two we had Gambia Global Citizenship Week, Evenings of Entertainment, Bloor Homes, a Carol Singing tour and Community Carols for Prospect Hospice.

Haiti CD. Four of our top singers responded with bubbling enthusiasm at the opportunity to sing and record a song for the Haiti Disaster Appeal. The girls have performed it and several events and are using the piece as part of their GCSE coursework.

The Spring term concluded the Sing Up project where some of our singing leaders went into two of our primary schools to teach them a song which will be on this years Now That's What I Call Commonweal CD. As part of our Creative & Media course some of the class created a real show entitled Staged. Also the Spring Concert which this year was held at Christ Church in Old Town.
