What are Extended School Services?

Extended services are projects in schools that provide a range of services and activities, often beyond the school day, to help meet the needs of children, their families and the wider community.
They can include wraparound childcare, adult education, parenting support programmes, after school activities including study support, community access and Swift and Easy access to targeted and specialist services.

Barnardo’s Robert Le Kyng (RLK) Sure Start Children’s Centre
Managed by Barnardo’s on behalf of Swindon Borough Council, located adjacent to Robert Le Kyng Primary School in Westcott Street

Barnardo’s RLK Children’s Centre offer a warm welcome, access to groups, information and support if you need it.  We are open and accessible to all families with under 5’s.  Children enjoy learning as they play at our fun filled groups and on outings!

We encourage all parents, carers, guardians, grandparents, childminders, foster parents and nannies, in fact anyone who looks after children of 0-5 years to use the centres services.  We are committed to reaching out to families from all backgrounds, giving opportunities to access high quality services in non-judgemental, inclusive and supportive environments.

We have a comprehensive programme half term and holiday activities, please contact the centre direct or visit our website for more information and a copy of the programme.  All groups have access to RLK Children’s Centre high quality facilities including an outdoor play area, and indoor crèche space with toys, games, crafts and books.  Come along and see what we can offer you – services are free unless otherwise stated.
