Playback
A group of Drama GCSE students have been working on Sixth Sense’s ‘Playback’ project. Playback is Sixth Sense Theatre Company’s latest and most innovative project to date. Sixth Sense has managed to combine some of its major areas of interest by uniting emerging writers, young people, professional actors and their production team to produce a series of new works for young people.

This involves three secondary schools in the South West and three emerging writers. Each writer was seconded to a school for a six week residency in the Autumn term of 2005. The young people in each school have helped to produce a short play with their writer based on the lives of the young people in each group. The three finished plays will then be produced with professional actors and technicians. These plays will then be toured ‘back’ to young people in schools and other venues throughout the region.

Commonweal are fortunate to have Joe Graham, an award winning published writer. His works have been performed at The Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham, and Watford Palace Theatre, amongst others. A selection of his plays; Sherbert Lemon, A Fistful of Mondays, Joined at The Hip, The Witches of Preswick and Best Man Faller have been published by Cressrelles Publishing.
