Swindon Community Radio 106-8 FM The station ran a month long pilot throughout the month of September and our school were most fortunate to be invited to take part. Josie was interviewed regarding our work in the community and Mike Vertannes tutor group performed a radio play with his year ten tutor group . The play was a cross curricular project bringing together maths, the performing arts and citizenship issues relating to respecting ones peers.

Commented Mike, “ The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it gave them an insight into how to record a play using very little equipment, but lots of technique.”

Shirley Ludford also came into school for our Open Evening on 28th September to record extracts from the drama department spring production Adrian Mole. This was adapted and delivered by the then year 10 cast.

The school hope to add their input on a regular basis when the station comes back on air later in the year. Thanks to the Swindon Advertiser for a nice spread on this re the Saturday October 15th.editions. Thanks also are extended to Shirley Ludford and all the staff that made this project possible.
